I am an Argentine Tango teacher, a cultural anthropologist, and a mother.
This series was phenomenal. While I don't like to compare, this was better than ANY of the Argentine masters whom I've worked with. Truly.
Oscar's musicality and understanding of the dance in his body is the absolute 'Cat's Meow' of all the male tango dances I've seen. Moreover, his enthusiasm in his teaching simply overflows into the class. You want to work hard!
Georgina, too, is hands on in class. Not bashful, she'll come to you and correct your dance as appropriate. When she dances she knows how to make her feet truly 'speak.' Her foot movements are stunning! Were I a follow, I would certainly want to learn this art from her....
Happily, not long after I got coffee going this morning and did some stretching, I started some 'tango exercises' I gleaned from my time with Oscar and Georgina. I'm certain with regular practice as a result of Oscar and Georgina's time here I'll be a better dancer.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for bringing Oscar and Georgina to Portland. It has been a gift....
